POSITION PAPER: THE RIGHTS OF THE MOTORCYCLIST
Introduction:
Motorcycling is a legitimate form of transport and as such should be treated the same as all other road users.
BRONZ Inc Policy:
There should be total equity in the treatment of all road users, without fear of favour. In particular:
- This must include standardised testing procedures and an acceptable Graduated Driver Licensing System;
- There must be equality on the imposition of prohibitions, for example, it is not an acceptable practice to have a motorcyclist reverting to a 250cc machine after a loss of licence, when a car driver, after a like period can immediately access the road in a vehicle that may be beyond their capabilities;
- Motorcycling is a legitimate form of transport, and as such should be treated the same as all other road users.
Summary:
BRONZ Inc supports the treatment of all road users in a similar and fair manner, without fear or favour.
